Material Developer
Job Description
The Material Developer will be taking part in all solid materials (catalysts and sorbents) related activities in ZEG Power together with the growing internal team and partners. This includes executing R&D activities, follow up supply chain within the field as well as following up solids related activities at plant operations. The role is important for ongoing and future development and optimisation of the company’s technology and is key for further industrialisation and commercialisation of the company’s technology and plant systems. The Material Developer reports to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
Primary responsibilities
- Participate in all particulate solids related company activities
- Follow-up short- and long-term development targets
- Participate in ongoing related R&D activities
- Develop and participate in future R&D activities
- Follow-up supply chain and sourcing of solids for plant operations
- Contribute to the operation of the first-of-a-kind, upscaled ZEG H1 plant at CCB Energy Park, Kollsnes, outside Bergen in Norway
- Supervise and monitor plant operations for optimisation of solids processing, handling and usage
- Contribute to further technology and system development
- Support the rest of the ZEG Power team as required.
Qualifications & skills
- PhD within inorganic chemistry, catalysis, materials science or similar, multidisciplinary background
- Detailed knowledge of physicochemical properties of solid materials
- Detailed knowledge on chemical and physical rate limiting parameters in heterogeneous catalytic and non-catalytic reactions
- Deep understanding of deactivation phenomena in heterogeneous catalysis
- Deep understanding of mechanical, physical and chemical long-term mechanism of bed materials in fluidisation/entrainment systems
- Experience from industrial scale SMR, FCC, Ca-looping, chemical looping or other related process industry is an advantage
- Experience from R&D within particulate solid materials development is an advantage
- Fluent in written and oral English, Norwegian/Swedish/Danish is an advantage
