Mechanical Development Engineer

Job Description
The Mechanical Development Engineer position will join the growing technology & process development team in ZEG Power. The role constitutes diverse tasks in the area of developing, maturing and verifying solutions, designs and systems, as well as layout, component and piping engineering. ZEG Power is in a phase of scaling-up the company and its technology, and the Senior Mechanical Engineer position will be highly involved in all aspects of the related activities. The Mechanical Development Engineer reports to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
 
Primary responsibilities

• Participation in developing plant designs from concept phase to execution and realization.
• Develop and qualify solutions from a process and mechanical viewpoint
• Component design and engineering
• Layout engineering
• Piping engineering and materials selection
• Structural analysis
• Contribute to the operation of the first-of-a-kind, ZEG H1 plant, at CCB Energy Park, Kollsnes, outside Bergen in Norway
• Contribute to further technology and system development and up-scaling
• Contribute to other activities and support the rest of the ZEG Power team as required.

• 0-10 years of relevant experience
• Competency/experience within high temperature pressurized process vessels design and materials selection in general and fluidized bed reactors in particular
• Preferred background from technology and process development, equipment design and manufacturing
• Experience from relevant industry (process, chemistry and/or oil & gas)
• Experience from industrial scale SMR, FCC, Ca-looping, chemical looping or other related process industry is an advantage
• Independent, pro-active and structured
• Innovative and strategic mindset
• The ability to take responsibility, backed by the company team
• Motivated, engaged, solution-oriented, flexible and positively minded
• Fluent in written and oral English, Norwegian/Swedish/Danish is an advantage
